Lithuanian eurointegration experience spreads to Eastern Europe: a series of lectures conducted by the European Integration Studies Centre and events timed to NATO’s 60th anniversary continue in Moldova

Project includes continuation of the series of lectures by Lithuanian advisers and politicians, started in 2008. However, this year lectures will also be conducted in the Moldovan province. For this purpose, three cities of Moldovan province with strong academic society and the European Information Centers have been chosen. These cities include Cahul, Balti and Comrat, the capital of Gagauzia. Topics of lectures will encompass practical aspects of EU integration, the mass media’s  role in the life of a province, as well as agricultural reforms, ecological farming and rural tourism.

This project is a continuation of the initiatives started in October 2006 which should considerably strengthen the role of non-governmental organizations in Moldova and Lithuania’s overall positive image. Moreover, the project foresees holding of caricature exhibition devoted to the subject of NATO in Chisinau. Exhibition will last for two months, allowing the citizens of Moldova to take a humorous look at NATO and thus to get rid of at least some stereotypes towards this organization.

Project duration: May 15th – December 1st, 2009

Financing: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania
